MARCH BREAKFAST

08:30-09:30 | 3 MARCH, 2023

The time we spend on compliance, research and other due diligence is overwhelming. As a community of IFAs, it's vital that we pool our knowledge and expertise in order to continually offer our clients the best independent advice, and remain profitable as businesses contributing to our local economy.

For our next Breakfast with SAIFAA (BwS), we have a rare opportunity to pick the brain of Magnus Heystek (who needs little introduction!) alongside a panel of other seasoned IFAs and SAIFAA members.

PANELISTS: Magnus Heystek with a few of our members
TOPIC: Navigating through the current economic chaos in SA, as an IFA

With our panel, and your input, we are going to explore some of these key areas:

  1. The recent budget speech
  2. The effects of loadshedding
  3. The exodus of highly skilled South Africans to better opportunities elsewhere (and the effect on broken-up families)
  4. The after-effects of COVID, followed by raising interest rates
  5. The volatile currency
  6. Keeping up with regulations during all of this
  7. Competition from direct marketing, in-house sales teams, and straight online access to products

The feedback that we've received from our recent BwS sessions has been exceptionally positive!

When we brainstorm together and have more interaction from you, we form a networking opportunity where IFAs are empowered to voice their insights, suggestions and frustrations.

These one-hour networking events will allow us to keep in touch with each other and hear from a new keynote speaker each month. We have always believed that we are stronger when we stand together, just like the water buffalo. As our world has changed in the last 18 months, we believe that these events will form a strong foundation for our community going forward.
